Melissa grew up on a farm in Fallon, Nevada, Job in Manila, Philippines, but somehow they made their way to New York, to the same church, where they first met. They have this theory that when two people are meant to be together, their hands are like magnets. If they hadn’t met in that same church in New York, their hands would have met somewhere else, at some other point in time, in some other place. They laugh when they explain this theory, but their clear devotion for each other makes it an easy one to believe.
They got married at Gantry Plaza State Park, where Job asked Melissa to marry him, and had a lively reception at Riverview Restaurant. Melissa wore a vintage, lace mermaid-style gown originally made by her grandmother for her mother. Her bridesmaid, Holly Ernst, did her hair and makeup. She and her bridesmaids put together the floral arrangements. Job’s sister, Joan, made the 3 tier cake. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family, who traveled from all over the world to celebrate with them.
